About Us
In 1975, Robert G. Graf founded American Mine Research, Inc. to support the mining industry's need for enhanced safety through the use of ground continuity monitors. Presently, American Mine Research has 30,000+ circuits of the pilotless monitor in operation throughout the world. In addition to the ground monitor, American Mine Research offers the total mining industry a variety of products ranging from environmental monitors and data acquisition systems to vacuum operated circuit breakers.
Over the past 25 years the AMR products and service offerings have expanded to satisfy the needs of surface mining, underground mining, and the aggregates industry. Continuous improvements in feature content and product designs have broadened the scope of our products and their applications. Where applicable, many of these products are MSHA-approved. AMR is proud to offer the attractive combination of safety and productivity in our total product line. Recently, AMR furthur diversified its offerings to include monitoring, control and automation services to the water and wastewater industries.
Located in Rocky Gap, Virginia, just off I-77, AMR shares a 25,000 sq. ft. modern facility with East River Metals, Inc. AMR also has an established distribution network throughout the United States to serve both the metal and non-metal segments of the mining industry. Internationally, the value of AMR products is recognized in the mining activities of Australia, Canada, and South America.
Founded in 1979, East River Metals, Inc. provided high quality metal products to American Mine Research at a time when quick turnarounds were needed during product development. Using computer-controlled machinery with state-of-the-art processing and quality control, ERM continues to specialize in the design, fabrication, and assembly of sheet metal products yielding close tolerances and high cosmetic quality finishes.
Our two companies offered 40 years of system level integration experience when founding Custom Manufacturing Services, Inc. in 1995. Utilizing 100,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing space in Princeton, West Virginia, CMS has the capability of turn-key manufacturing surface mount and through-hole assembly of circuit boards, cable and harness assembly, electro-mechanical assembly, sheet metal fabrication, finishing and silk-screening. CMS is situated on 18+ acres and provides safe, ergonomic and environmentally-conscious work centers.
